Guarantees Guaranteed to Work

Chances are, if a prospect reads your guarantee they are interested in your offer. Consequently, it’s very important for you to follow these rules:

Rule #1: No matter what you’re selling, always include a strong guarantee.

Rule #2: Guarantees should be simple, direct, as unrestricted as possible, personally backed by your president or owner, and most importantly, must address your prospect’s basic concern(s) adequately.

Before you create your guarantee, consider your potential customer. What possible concerns might this person have? Are they concerned with price, your earlier claims, a relatively unknown product, location of your company, how long you’ve been in business, size or appropriateness of their selection, that a salesman may call, that they have to pay return postage, where their charitable contribution goes, etc.

Rule #3: Do not include restrictions or instructions beyond "call us" in your guarantee. For example, don’t include things like: Return it prepaid in its original package, some special order items are not returnable, shipping costs are not refundable, this is a limited guarantee, we accept only unopened merchandise, etc.

Here are a few effective guarantees, minus the titles and signatures:

We make every effort to see to it that the maximum amount of your donation makes it into the hands of ____. A copy of our latest financial statement, which illustrates this fact, is available through the state of ____ simply by calling ____. We encourage you to check our fine record for yourself.
